- Do not accept any bitch for mating. It is not all about money, rather the quality of the breed.

- You must recognise the faults in a bitch, and thus attempt to correct them.

- The idea that it does not matter how poor a bitch is, is totally untrue. The puppies can only be as good as their mother or father or at the most, grandmother or grandfather. So they can all be as poor as the bitch. We cannot change genes or inheritances.

- Be honest with the bitch’s owner. Do not let their expectations be high, just because they are using a good stud dog.

- Please give advice to the bitch’s owner namely, feeding of the bitch, feeding of the puppies, de-worming of- and inoculations for the bitch and puppies.

- Show examples of files drawn up for each individual puppy, the contents of which deals with diet, “do’s and dont’s”, registration certificate, vets certificate, pedigree, etc.

Provide the bitch’s owner with the following:

1 - Photo of the stud dog
2 - 5 Generation pedigree
3 - Any other information, e.g. achievements of the stud dog, achievements of its progeny
4 - Application form for the Staffie Club

- Give advice regarding possible ailments that are commonly found in Staffies, e.g. cleft palate.

- Encourage owners to join the club, as well as the buyers of the puppies.

- Lastly, but not least, acknowledge the faults in your own dog and do not duplicate these. Do not be “kennel blind”, as it does the breed a LOT of damage.

FORGET ABOUT TITLES WON, AND JUST BE HONEST!!!
