About Joseph Polidoro
I have raised pigeons since i was seven,Im now 42 and have never been without them for a day.I currently have a nice breeding stock of racing homers.My strains include Hofkens down from "Witoger 720" I also have a nice selection of CBS birds aquired from Rick Mardis.Ive been working on my Grizzle family that are down from Ganus/CBS stock along with some other crosses.
My Pigeons
I have 4 direct children off of "Jonge Stier" from CBS.These birds are all down from 019 Janssens.I inbreed my Hofkens(720 line)and then cross them onto my Janssens for my race team.I also have some select pigeons from Mike Ganus.One of my inbred 720 birds came in 4th place in the South Bay Classic in 2009.I also have some old line "Vanbruane" birds down from Barcelona Champions.I also have aquired some top of the line breeders off my friend Neil Migliore of "Lion Gate Lofts" You can visit his website at www.liongatelofts.com.
My Lofts
I have a 20' flying loft with four sections.The inside is all doweled ceilings and partitions.I also have two 30x30 venting skylights and a thermostat controlled exhaust fan.The roof has a 20' ridge vent and four vents on the bottom wall of the loft for proper ventilation.My breeding coop is 12x8 with 24x16x12 nest boxes.To insure certain pairs youngsters i breed in 8 individual pens in my heated garage.All my breeders are medicated only "if needed" to insure good immune systems to pass on to the youngsters.
Polidoro Grizzles
Ive been perfecting a family of grizzles since 2003.They are Havnith/Vanloon/Black Diamonds from (Peter Van Der Merwe)and a few other strains to create the perfect racing Machine.This year(2009)One of my grizzles i gave to a flyer here on LI took 1st place in a 200mi race with approx 25 lofts 15mins out front.My Grizzle hen "Polidoro-2009-22-IF" Did very well below are her results.I entered the all grizzle one loft race and did very well with an equal 1st and other top positions.

4TH VS 435 252 MI
10TH VS 457 165 MI
14TH VS 511 165 MI
Her combine results were also very good.. 4TH VS 1,415 208 MI,9TH VS 1,460 252 MI,10TH VS 2,040 252 MI, 13TH VS 2,051 208 MI,19TH VS 1,517 121 MI, 54TH VS 2,239 121 MI, 56TH VS 2,171 165 MI.
